Registration Ongoing for Camp Invention at Curtiss Mansion
Monday, June 19, 2017 - 9:00am
The Curtiss Mansion, in partnership with the National Inventors Hall of Fame (of which Glenn H. Curtiss is an inductee), is again offering the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades K - 6. It’s an exciting, week-long summer adventure in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) that’s all about big ideas – kids working together to find innovative solutions to real-world problems and sharpen critical learning skills through four modules that reinvent summer fun.
Young inventors will create their own personal, ultimate spy gadget alarm box by taking apart and upcycling everyday machines, explore a distant new exoplanet and design inventions to create the next earth, launch water rockets, build bubble blasters, engineer giant castles, and design duct tape products and pitch them to mock investors.
Thais Perez is the director of the one-week Camp Invention ™ program that runs from June 19th to June 23rd, 2017, at the Curtiss Mansion in Miami Springs. Local educators will facilitate program modules and enthusiastic high school and college students will serve as Leadership Interns – ensuring that there is one staff member for every eight children.
