The Miami Springs Police Department is looking for qualified men and women to become part of our law enforcement family.  We take pride in the fact that we are a community-oriented department that works closely with our residents.

Police applicants must be Florida Certified Police Officers or close to obtaining a Florida Certification.  We are currently hiring police officers as well as accepting interest cards for future police officers and public service aide positions.

Employment as a Police Officer with Miami Springs PD comes with the following benefits:

  • Starting salary is $63,289  with a top salary of $89,162 - Effective as of October 2023
  • Lateral hires for applicants with prior full-time Law Enforcement experience
  • 2 - 4 years of previous experience (Step 2 of 8) starting salary of $66,436
  • 4 - 6 years of previous experience (Step 3 of 8) starting salary of $69,836
  • 6+ years of previous experience (Step 4 of 8) starting salary of $73,301

Police Officer Requirements:

  • At least 19 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Valid FL driver's license with a good driving record
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Police Applicants must pass:

  • Physical Agility Test & Swim Test
  • Written Examination
  • Oral Examination
  • Computer Voice Stress Analysis
  • Thorough background investigation
  • Medical Examination including drug screening

 

Public Service Aide Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Valid FL driver's license with a good driving record
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be dedicated to pursuing a college degree related to Law Enforcement

 

Public Service Aide Applicants Must Pass:

  • Test of Adult Basic Education (T.A.B.E.) by scoring at least a 10th-grade level in all areas
  • Physical Agility Test & Swim Test
  • Oral Examination
  • Computer Voice Stress Analysis
  • Thorough background investigation
  • Medical Examination including drug screening

Employment as a Public Service Aide with Miami Springs PD has the following benefits:

  • Tuition reimbursement if working toward a degree in Criminal Justice
