Security Measures at Miami Springs Council Meetings
On Monday, 08/22/16, the Mayor and City Council of Miami Springs approved the use of a walk through metal detector for all future Council Meetings, Special Council Meetings and Budget Workshop Meetings.
Anyone attending these meetings will be required to pass through the metal detector. Any bags or briefcases will also be subject to being searched.
No weapons are allowed in the building during a meeting of the governing body of the City, even if you possess a Concealed Weapons Permit - Florida State Statute 790.06 (12)(a)7.
Due to this newly added security measure, we suggest that you arrive earlier than usual to allow for the extra time needed to conduct this security measure.
