Zika Virus and Mosquito Control Information

Below are webpage links and PDF forms that contain information regarding the Zika Virus that has been provided to us by Miami-Dade County and the State Health Department. The best way for us to help combat the spread of the Zika virus at this point is to do our part for mosquito control and protecting ourselves from mosquitos.

All residents are reminded to use mosquito repellant, drain any standing sprinkler or rain water from outside of your homes and businesses, screen doors and windows and empty any containers in their yards with standing water. These include:
• Garbage cans
• Gutters
• Pool covers
• Flower pots or other containers where water has collected
• Discard old tires, drums, bottles, cans or other items that aren’t being used
• Empty and clean birdbaths and pet’s water bowls at least twice a week
• Maintain your pool's chemistry

While the traditional mosquito season occurs during the period from May to October, Miami-Dade County’s Mosquito Control program takes place year-round and is designed to be proactive in terms of surveillance and monitoring activities. If you have a mosquito problem in your area that you can’t mitigate you can report it by calling 3-1-1 or online http://www.miamidade.gov/311direct/#/map/c08/PW6102
