Why Trees Get Permitted For Removal

Do I need a Permit for trimming?  What trees can I remove?  What are the guidelines?

When a permit is issued for removal, the Arborist goes out to verify the requested tree. An inspection is performed on the location, health and integrity of the tree. If the overall condition of the tree has the  potential to cause bodily injury or property damage due to structural integrity or canopy conditions and can not be corrected via proper pruning practices, the permit would be granted without the need for mitigation.

If the tree is in good condition with no defects, the size and type of tree is noted and a mitigation formula is calculated. This calculation determines the number of replacement trees or the monetary sum which would go into a Tree Trust Fund for future planting by the City.
