CITY OF MIAMI SPRINGS TO CREATE CITYWIDE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN MOBILTY STUDY AND MASTER PLAN
Public Invited to Participate in Plan Workshop
MIAMI SPRINGS, FL. March 12, 2019. The City of Miami Springs is currently developing a Citywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Study and a Master Plan to guide the future development of the transportation network within the City. This plan will look at current conditions and future growth to provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements in the city, with plan development expected to be complete by June 2019.
The Citywide Bicycle and Pedestrian Mobility Study and a Master Plan will examine the various means of travel available, including sidewalks, bicycling, transit, and automobile, focusing on the efficient and safe movement of people and goods, while accounting for new technologies that enhance our ability to travel. The result of this plan will be a series of recommendations on policies and capital improvements to continue to enhance the City of Miami Springs as a community with a high quality of life.
The City will be holding a workshop on March 27, 2019 at the City of Miami Springs’ Council Chambers from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. At this workshop, residents, business owners, and stakeholders will have the opportunity to learn about this effort and have the opportunity to participate in the plan’s development by providing their feedback on their transportation needs and concerns.
Hometown to 14,000 residents, Miami Springs is mostly single-family dwellings and limited apartments, with a historic downtown area of professional offices, restaurants and small retail stores. As the City became engulfed by the growth of Miami-Dade County, it remained a desirable “bedroom community” because of its small-town flavor, great location and family-oriented civic amenities, including parks, racquetball and tennis courts, golf course, municipal pool and new community center and theater.
