On Saturday, February 28th, Miami Springs Little League kicked off its new season with a festive Opening Day ceremony at Prince Field. Families gathered in the outfield to enjoy a beautiful morning of baseball, fun, and community. With perfect weather and a lively crowd, it was the ideal way to celebrate the start of another season full of teamwork, sportsmanship, and excitement for our young athletes.
League Director Fred Gonzalez welcomed players and families, joined by Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis, Mayor Walter Fajet, members of the City Council, city staff, and the Miami Springs Senior High State Champion Baseball Team, who helped inspire the next generation of players. First pitches were thrown by Commissioner Milian Orbis, Parks & Recreation Director Caitlin Smith, and members of the MSSH baseball team, officially starting the season.
Special thanks went to Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis, Miami Springs Parks & Recreation for their hard work maintaining the field to make the day possible, and the Miami Springs Police Department for keeping everyone safe. The event was a wonderful way to bring the community together and mark the beginning of another exciting Little League season in Miami Springs.
