Eagle Scout Project: Plastic Bag & Wrapping Collection Drive

-
2026-06-27 - Eagle Scout Project Bag Collection

The City of Miami Springs encourages residents to support Eagle Scout candidate William Cruz of Troop 334 as he works toward earning the rank of Eagle Scout through a community recycling initiative that will benefit the Miami Springs Police Department.

William is collecting clean plastic grocery bags, plastic film, and plastic wrapping materials that will be recycled and transformed into a park bench to be installed outside the Miami Springs Police Department. This project helps reduce plastic waste, promotes environmental stewardship, and creates a lasting improvement for our community.

Residents are invited to drop off acceptable materials on:

Saturday, June 27, 2026
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Grace Lutheran Church Social Hall
254 Curtiss Parkway, Miami Springs, FL

Please ensure that all donated plastic bags and wrapping materials are clean and dry before dropping them off.

Thank you for supporting William’s Eagle Scout Project and helping make Miami Springs a cleaner, greener community. Every bag collected brings us one step closer to creating a new park bench for our police department and keeping plastic waste out of landfills.
