Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)

The Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) at the Miami Springs Aquatic Center is ideal for your indoor gatherings. Rentals of this air-conditioned room includes use of all amenities inside the building including bathrooms, water fountains, sink, refrigerator and ice machine. The standard setup for the MPR provides enough tables (5’ round) and chairs for 50 individuals, however more are available for an additional cost if needed. The dimensions of the room are 69’x35.5’.

For parties wishing to use the room and have access to the water, capacity is capped at 50 people, the price of swimmers its built into the rental cost. Parties that will remain indoor for the entirety of the event will be capped at 100 people. 

Rentals can be booked, in person, 8 weeks prior to the desired date (starting on Monday).

Frequently Asked Questions

The Maximum number of people we allowed in the MPR is 120 guests. However, if you are planning to rent the room and have water access, we cap the total at 50 guests. 

Decorations are allowed, granted they don't cause any damage to the facility, the room or general public. Decorations cannot be adhered to the walls or fire sprinkler system in any form including, but not limited to: nailed, stapled, taped, sticky tacked. 

Restricted decorations include the following:

  • Pinatas
  • Confetti/Glitter
  • Anything glass

A Rental of the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) is for 4 hours. We provide renters an additional 30 minutes before and after the rental time to setup/breakdown the area. If additional time is needed, you will need to add an additional hour to your rental which is $100 for Miami Springs/Virginia Gardens Residents and $125 for Non-Residents. Please note, additional time can only be added within the open hours of the facility. 

Food and drinks are allowed. Keep in mind the Aquatic Center is a family friendly atmosphere, so alcoholic beverages and glass are not permitted. Their presence if found will constitute a removal from the facility and forfeiture of security deposit. All food must be cooked prior to the party, as no open flame is permitted on property. 

The setup of the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) provides tables and chairs for 50 guests. We provide 6 Five foot round tables with 8 chairs at each table, as well as rectangular tables measuring six feet and eight feet long. Additional tables and chairs can be added for a fee of $10 per table and $1 per chair. 

Rental of the room also includes use of the MPR kitchen area with a sink, microwave, refrigerator and ice machine. Furthermore, the room has its own water fountains and restrooms. 

Not included in rental: Access to the water, unless that option was selected and stated during reservation.

To reserve the Multi-Purpose Room you would need to stop by the Aquatic Center in person and submit a Rental form and Security Deposit ($200). Rental dates become available the Monday 6 weeks prior to your desired date, and is available on a first come first serve basis. Dates and Cabanas cannot be reserved over the phone, in advance or without a security deposit. 

A security deposit is required to confirm your rental. The deposit is separate from the rental cost and will be returned if all rules are followed by the renter and their guests and no damage is found to the facility. If the security deposit was placed with a card it can be returned the same day, while payments made by Cash/Check can take 3-4 weeks and sent during the Cities next check run. The security deposit is not applied towards the day of rental costs, it is held and processed separately. 

The full security deposit will be kept by the City of Miami Springs for the following reasons:

  • Damage to facility and/or rental area
  • Alcohol or glass beverages were found
  • Rules from Rental Agreement Form were not obeyed

A partial (50%) deposit will be kept by the City of Miami Springs for the following reasons:

  • Rental is canceled within 72 hours (3 days) of rental date
  • Party does not show up for scheduled rental
