The Miami Springs Police Department’s Investigations Division is dedicated to solving crimes, supporting victims, and keeping our community safe. Led by a Lieutenant and supported by experienced detectives, the division conducts follow-up investigations on criminal offenses reported by patrol officers.
Investigative responsibilities include:
- Criminal investigations and case follow-up
- Narcotics investigations
- Crime scene processing and evidence collection
- Suspect interviews and arrests
- Sexual battery investigations
- Collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
Homicide investigations are handled in partnership with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office through a mutual aid agreement, providing access to specialized resources and expertise.
Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF)
The Miami Springs Police Department participates in the federally funded High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force. Through this partnership, the department may receive Law Enforcement Trust Fund revenues from legally forfeited assets associated with criminal activity.
These funds are used in accordance with state and federal law to support equipment, training, crime prevention initiatives, and community programs that enhance public safety and improve services to our residents.
