This department is responsible for issuing all building permits in the City. The city is bound by the Florida Building Code with additional restrictions imposed by our own city codes.
It is always prudent to check with this department before proceeding with any construction of any type.
Failure to get a permit can result in fines to the homeowner and possibly shoddy or dangerous work being performed on your building.
This Department is also responsible for ensuring compliance to all of our Municipal Codes. The Code Compliance Division of the Department works with residents and business owners to assist them in conforming to the requirements of City Code of Ordinances. This includes the issuance of Local Business Tax Receipts (formerly called Occupational Licenses).
