Note from Miami Dade County Solid Waste Management

Miami-Dade County’s curbside Recycling program has been in place since 2008.  We have found that residents are still confused on what materials can be placed in their recycling cart.  In addition to mailing out specific information on a yearly basis, radio, social media and transit advertising,  we are working with our Enforcement Division to go cart to cart in an effort to educate residents on the recyclable material accepted in the County's curbside recycling program. Although we will be in Miami Springs on Wednesday, we have been tagging and will continue to tag carts on routes throughout the recycling program’s service area where recycling contamination is an issue.

On Wednesday, November 7, 2018  Miami-Dade County Solid Waste Management Department’s  waste enforcement officers will be tagging recycling carts in the City of Miami Springs.  We will be covering single-family homes on the curbside recycling program.  Officers will tag those recycling carts that have visible contaminants, as well as place door hangers at the respective property. Please see the attached photo of the tag and door hanger.
