You Are Not Alone. Help Is Available.

Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior used to gain or maintain power and control over a current or former spouse, partner, family member, or household member. Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, psychological, financial, and technological abuse.

Under Florida Statute 784.046, dating violence refers to violence between individuals who have or have had a continuing and significant romantic or intimate relationship. Florida law also provides protections for victims of sexual violence, repeat violence, and stalking.

No one deserves to live in fear. If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse, help is available. Understanding your rights, recognizing the warning signs, and knowing where to turn for support are important first steps toward safety.

The Miami Springs Police Department is committed to assisting victims with compassion, respect, and access to the resources they need. Whether you need emergency assistance, information about obtaining a protective injunction, or connections to local victim services, we are here to help.
