The Miami Springs Police Department reminds all motorists to obey posted speed limits and parking regulations to help keep our streets safe for residents, pedestrians, cyclists, and school children.
Speed Limits
Unless otherwise posted, the following speed limits apply within the City of Miami Springs:

| South Royal Poinciana Boulevard (Eastbound), from East Drive to Le Jeune Road (NW 42 Avenue) | 30 mph |
| School Zones | 15 mph (During the days and times posted on school zone signs.) |
Speeding Citations
The following fines apply to speeding violations:

Please Note: Fine amounts are established by Florida law and are subject to change.
Drivers may be eligible to attend a Basic Driver Improvement Course to prevent points from being assessed to their driving record, if they meet eligibility requirements under Florida law. Please refer to your citation or the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts for additional information.
Parking Regulations
Parking regulations are enforced throughout the City to promote traffic flow and ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and emergency responders.
Business District
Where posted, parking in the downtown business district is limited to two (2) hours.
Common Parking Violations
The following parking violations are frequently observed and may result in a citation:
Commercial Areas
- Parking against the direction of traffic.
- Parking in or partially occupying an accessible (handicap) parking space without authorization.
- Parking on crosshatched areas adjacent to accessible parking spaces.
- Double parking or blocking the travel lane.
- Parking in designated bus stops or loading zones.
- Parking where prohibited by signs or pavement markings.
Residential Areas
- Parking within 30 feet of a stop sign.
- Parking against the direction of traffic.
- Parking perpendicular to the roadway where prohibited.
- Parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
- Double parking.
- Blocking a driveway or access point.
- Violating posted parking restrictions, including "No Parking" or "No Angle Parking" signs.
Swale Parking
The City of Miami Springs recognizes the rights of property owners regarding the swale area directly adjacent to their property.
Under City ordinance:
- Property owners have preferential use of the swale adjacent to their property.
- Property owners may allow others to use their swale for reasonable purposes.
- Property owners may request that unauthorized individuals remove vehicles from the swale.
- If voluntary compliance is not achieved, assistance may be requested from the Miami Springs Police Department or the City's Code Compliance Division.
Unauthorized use of a swale may result in civil penalties beginning at $50.
