Lock It Up: Protect What Matters Most

Lock it up

A Few Simple Steps Can Help Prevent Crime

Most vehicle burglaries and many residential break-ins are crimes of opportunity. By taking a few simple precautions, you can make your home and vehicle far less attractive to criminals.

Protect Your Home & Vehicle

  • Always lock your doors and windows—even if you're only away for a few minutes. This includes your vehicle.
  • Park in well-lit areas whenever possible. Exterior lighting and well-maintained landscaping can help deter criminal activity around your home.
  • Keep valuables out of sight. Never leave purses, wallets, electronics, firearms, or other valuables visible inside your vehicle. If necessary, secure them in the trunk or glove compartment before you arrive at your destination.
  • Be an alert neighbor. If you notice suspicious activity, unfamiliar vehicles lingering in the area, or someone on a neighbor's property who appears out of place, call the Miami Springs Police Department immediately. Do not approach suspicious individuals.

Crime Prevention Starts With You
