Requesting a Crash Report

Traffic crash reports can be conveniently purchased online through the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.

Important Information

  • Traffic crash reports may take up to 10 days to become available after a crash has been reported.
  • Pursuant to Section 316.066, Florida Statutes, crash reports are confidential and exempt from public disclosure for 60 days following the date the report is filed.
  • During this 60-day period, reports are only available to individuals and entities authorized by law, including parties involved in the crash and other qualified persons as outlined in the statute.
  • Florida law imposes criminal penalties for the unauthorized release, access, or attempted acquisition of confidential personal information contained within a crash report.
