The traffic pattern at the railroad crossing located at North Royal Poinciana Boulevard (NRP Blvd) will be altered on March 8th, 2016 due to maintenance of a 96" water main that runs under NRP Blvd. This water main is vital to the residents of northern Miami-Dade County, including Miami Springs. Issues with the pipe need to be addressed immediately so that everyone can continue to receive service from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department. Water service will not be affected while the maintenance is being performed.
- On Tuesday 03/08/16 the roadway crossing the train tracks to and from Medley will be reduced to one lane from 7:00pm until midnight. Traffic will alternate using the one lane with the assistance of police officers. They will try to keep the flow as smooth as possible but delays should be expected.
- From midnight until 7:00 am the road will be completely closed.
- The maintenance work will be conducted nightly from 7:00pm until 7:00am. This is expected to continue for approximately two weeks.
- For now, drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible. This will help relieve traffic congestion in the area as well as get drivers used to using an alternate route if closing NRP Blvd at the railroad crossing becomes a necessity.
As more information becomes available, the Miami Springs Police Department will do its best to disseminate it and keep everyone informed. Check our website for any updates and follow our Twitter at @MiamiSpringsPD.
