Benefits / 2023-24 Open Enrollment for City Employees

This is a graphic that simply says Employee Benefits

It is that time of the year again, Open Enrollment season. Open Enrollment is the period in which you can make changes to your benefits for the upcoming year. This year's open enrollment period will run from Thursday, Sept. 14, until Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023. Any changes to your plans will become effective on Oct. 1, 2023.

The City will be using the same insurance providers in 2023-24, and your plans and benefits will remain unchanged. Please see the links below to the new rate sheet and a chart containing the plan summaries.

The City will continue to provide individual health, dental, and vision coverage at no cost to the employee. For additional coverage, the attached rate sheet reflects an 8.5% increase in our medical insurance rates. This increase is attributed to the City's utilization rate and inflation. There will be no rate increase for our dental and vision insurance plans.

If you don't wish to make any changes to your plans or dependents, you don't need to do anything. You will automatically be enrolled in the same plans and coverage on Oct. 1, 2023.

If you DO want to make changes to your plans or dependents, please notify HR Specialist Rose Piniella by the deadline: Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023.

The best way to communicate with HR is by email, and the best email address to use for benefits issues is benefits@miamisprings-fl.gov. If you need to reach Rose by phone, her number is (305) 805-5009.

Thank you for your cooperation in the open enrollment process.
