City of Miami Springs Florida Official Website

The City of Miami Springs red-light cameras record video and capture images of red-light runners at designated intersections. The program's start date was January 9th, 2012. The issuing of citations begins with a fine of $158 for each violation. Red-light camera technology is employed at the following locations:

  • NW 36th St. Westbound @ LeJeune Rd/NW 42 Av
  • NW 36th St Westbound @ Curtiss Pkwy/NW 57th Av
  • NW 36th St Eastbound @ NW South River Dr
  • NW 36 St Westbound @ Sheridan Dr
  • LeJeune Rd/NW 42 Av Southbound @ NW 36th St

Road safety programs have a proven track record across Florida and the U.S. in reducing the number of crashes and injuries caused by red-light running. Miami Springs is one of more than 500 communities across the nation using this life-saving technology.

Cameras operate 24-hours a day, record video, and capture images of every vehicle running a red light at the intersection. Warning signs alerting drivers to the red-light cameras precede each intersection where red-light cameras are located and were installed prior to the system becoming operational.

The program is administered by  Verra Mobility with each violation reviewed and approved by Miami Springs Police Department personnel prior to being issued.
